One of my favourite drinks is an alcoholic cocktail, in particular a Mojito so when Gabby from Cool As Group PR invited us bloggers from Leicester to the VIP launch night of a brand new tiki cocktail bar in Leicester it felt like it was fate. Leicester's small but nostalgic nightclub Fan Club had recently added an new addition of a Tiki bar to their nightclub and I was curious how it was going to fit into it's very dated décor to attract new and lasting customers through their doors during the weekend.

 The chosen room kind of disappointed me, it was hidden away and whilst I expected to be greeted with bright colours, Hawaiian music and staff dressed with garlands hanging from their necks. Instead it felt quiet, dull and uninviting for the customers. It personally didn't make me feel like I was going to want to utilise my night out sat in that room. I suppose with the reputation and remembering it is a nightclub you wouldn't want to spend a lot of money for the décor to be destroyed. 

However, the cocktail menu on offer excited me and after my first glass of Strawberry Daiquiri I was hopeful that their products would make up for their disappointing appearance. Myself and my partner Jordan make it our mission to give all of the cocktails on offer a try and there was a nice little handful of options for us to choose from. The prices where quite reasonable for the content of the product, however I felt the size and presentation didn't match which left me feeling a bit disappointed. As somebody who has worked as a cocktail maker in the past it's really essential to have a well presented cocktail for it be enjoyed by a customer. 

Now when it comes to picking the favourite cocktail of the evening it comes as an easy answer to me. I definitely prefer the fruitier tastes than the stronger more tequila based ones. I definitely enjoyed the Blue Hawaiian the most, a beautifully bright blue cocktail that was refreshing, light and full of flavour.

I would definitely go and check out the Fan Club again in the future, especially on a night out to see how well the new bar is received and used by customers.
