Who doesn't enjoy getting their friends together at the weekend for some tea and cake? Cake is the best remedy for some much needed time catching up with your friends and having a bit of much needed pamper time too. Recently the people at Brioche Pasquier invited me to throw a Macaron Manicure themed party to celebrate 'Galentines Day' (I know this post is late but better late than never) this went hand in hand with the release of their new range of macarons. I haven't tried macarons before so an opportunity to get my taste buds around something new has to be snatched up right?

It was hard to get some friends together and work it around my busy schedule, but my sister did come round for a catch up and to give her verdict on the macaroons and the nail varnishes over a cup of tea. Well actually she came round to print off her CV but we'll say she came to catch up with me for the sake of this blog post, yeah?

The macarons come in 6 different flavours; coffee, chocolate, vanilla, pistachio, strawberry and lemon. The team managed to send nail varnishes that matched the colours of the macarons, so top marks for the colour coordination it was definitely appreciated! My favourites were without a doubt the lemon ones, the taste was strong but completely complimented the cup of tea I was enjoying alongside it. I also enjoyed the taste of the chocolate and vanilla ones, and the strawberry ones.. basically the majority of them I really enjoyed. Let's not have favourites here, they're all equals! The only macaroon I couldn't find myself tasting was the pistachio one, however my sister said it was yummy so we'll take her word for it that it was great! I was so impressed with their taste and how fresh they arrived. If your looking for a product to be fresh for a party and save the hassle of baking them yourself (we're not all the next Mary Berry, we can dream) then these products are definitely your answer. They arrived in a box of 36 macaroons, enough to share with everybody.

I would give you a review on the nail polishes but I am currently trying to grow my nails and kick my habit of biting them. However the colours are perfect shades for the Spring season so I hope to put them to good use.

Hosting this event has definitely inspired me to get my friends together more often during the rest of the year to have some tea and cake again.

Make sure you read more about Brioche Pasquier and their products just here. Hopefully it'll inspire you to gather your friends together too.
