FOOD | *Whipee Gelato, Leicester

There's been such a buzz around Leicester in recent weeks, most importantly because of our Premier League win in the football but still it allows Leicester to be proud of itself. In light of this I was invited to Whipee Gelato in Leicester City Centre to try out their goodies. I was hoping to get a look around the premises but with it being a Sunday night that wasn't possible, HOWEVER I am arranging to go back and see it all for myself so there will be a separate post for you to enjoy!

Located in the city centre on Granby Street, opposite another favourite place of mine Bru is Whipee Gelato. You cannot miss it with it's brightly coloured front and doors swung open to invite it's customers in. With over 40 flavours to choose from their delicious gelatos and sorbets you will be stuck for a decision. The products are made on the premises themselves, carefully made with state of the art Italian Carpigiani equipment, the finest ingredients and with a lot of love and passion for good measure. There is also coffee, tea, milkshakes and many other indulgent desserts available too if your an gelato person. It was all presented well and smelt delicious too!

The restaurant comes complete with comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi and charging points, so pretty awesome if your a blogger needing somewhere to have some well needed 'blog time'. The place is open Monday to Sunday 7.00am til late, so also pretty perfect if you fancy a dessert after your evening meal out or for a date with a twist.

Deciding which dessert to try was difficult, in particularly because for the celebrations of Leicester City the company had decided to dedicate their Gelato flavours to each of the team players in their honour! What an awesome idea!

Jordan and I ensured we opted for something different from the menu. Jordan opted for a generous helping of Gelato ice cream in his Millionaire Shortbread Sundae (which he polished in under 10 minutes so it must have been delicious!) and I opted for a Strawberry Cream Tea Crepe with a helping of Fudge Brownie Ice-Cream which was so good! I could barely eat anything afterwards and all products were at a reasonable price too! I recommend this place completely if your after a place to satisfy your sweet tooth!

You can check out more information about Whipee Gelato by visiting their Twitter page just here (I would check them out just to see the images of their treats!)

thanks for reading,
Disclaimer: This is a restaurant review. Dessert for me and a +1 was offered in exchange for an honest review on my blog. As always, all opinions and photographs are my own. I definitely recommend this place!
