I've really tried on the food front to find alternative options for my lunch. As I work in a secondary school and my lunchtimes are quite limited in time I'm always looking for ways in which I can be healthy and fill my tummy before lessons! (there's nothing worse than a rumbling tummy during lessons believe me).

So when the team from WildCard PR asked whether I'd like to try out the new Tilda Pulses and Rice range I put 2 and 2 together and decided to try them out for a whole week for my lunch.

With over 40 years of experience under their belt, I was excited to see what Tilda Pure Basmati had to offer with it's exciting new range of products.

The Tilda Pulses and Rice are a range of delicious single serve pouches, full of flavour and nutrients. There are five different varieties to choose from in your local supermarket from now! They are a healthy and convenient meal solution to suit whatever your taste,

You can choose from Moroccan inspired dishes such as the Chickpea, Harissa and Lemon to Mexican creativity with Pinto Bean, Green Chili and Lime.

The pouches combine protein-rich pulses with Basmati rice and tasty natural ingredients, each variant has been inspired by the global cuisine of the pulse's origin. As well as that they combine plant based protein, Basmati rice and vegetables making them a great source of protein and fibre, as well as counting as one of your five a day! The entire range is also gluten and dairy free.

You can enjoy the pouches either hot or cold - eaten straight from the pouch or can be enjoyed as a complete meal by itself. I have really enjoyed putting a fresh salad whilst testing out the Tilda Pulses and Rice range and making sure my pouches are nice and warm. They only take one minute to heat up in the microwave making them a really quick and easy product to access and enjoy.

I absolutely loved trying out these products during my week test programme and felt like they really filled a hole in my stomach during lifetime meaning I didn't need to eat anything else for a fair few hours (which is always good right?)

My absolute favourite was the EDAMAME : Spring Onion and Wasabi pouch which has surprisingly good flavour and a real essence of freshness to it making it a really enjoyable product to enjoy with a fresh salad. It's a product I would definitely purchase again and again for my lunchtime fix!

The one which I didn't enjoy as much was the PINTO BEAN: Green Chilli and Lime which besides it's excitement around the whole Mexican food feel it just wasn't to my taste buds and I found the flavouring quite bland. I'm not too sure whether I'd try this one again or whether I would try it without a salad on it's side.

So yeah, definitely check out Tilda if it's an alternative lunchtime option your after because you will not be disappointed by these products.
