*World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is the Macmillan charity's biggest fundraising event of the year for people facing cancer in the UK. With 2.5 million people in our country alone living with cancer, it's important we continue to raise the profile of the support offered to those individuals through the incredible work from charities like Macmillan.

The charity make it their goal with this event to ask people from all over the UK to host their very own Coffee Mornings (caffeine and cake is the best combination right?) and donate money to Macmillan. They even managed to raise an incredible 25 million pounds last year and are aiming to raise even more this year.

Statistics show that by 2020, almost 1 in 2 people will get cancer at some point in their lives, stats are already at a 1 in 3 of us getting cancer. It's one of the toughest things we'll ever have to experience in our lifetime and nobody wants that fear for anybody, especially for a loved one. I know if I ever had a loved one suffering through cancer then I would only want not only the best support physically but emotionally, charities like Macmillan are there for us all. Just recently my school friends have lost their close loved ones to cancer and it feels like it's a topic which isn't too far from home.

Marks and Spencer have been supporting Macmillan with their mission since 2010 and have raised 6 million together since! They have all of the treats available to make your Coffee Morning succeed, with a delicious selection of cakes and biscuits! They also have new aprons, tea towels, mug and cake tins on offer in stores too which would make great fun if you wanted to have a GBBO styled coffee morning to fundraise, with a donation going towards the Macmillan Cancer Support.

So if your heading out during Friday then head into your local M&S for their Macmillan Coffee Morning or make sure you can get involved in one! I will be helping to raise some money in my own way for Macmillan by selling cakes at break and lunchtime at school today.

We can make a difference by supporting Macmillan on their World's Biggest Coffee Morning!

  1. Great post Emmie, it really is scary isn't it? I lost my cousin this year, she was my age and had a 12 year old child, we were both pregnant together. It's just so so sad. Being a Mum, it's something that really scares me. :(
