When December rolls around life becomes pretty hectic, if you're not trying to get all of your Christmas shopping done as quickly as possible you're diary is full of catching up with friends and lots of other festive activity! Sometimes we all need to relax and do something that isn't very festive but generally nice to do.

As part of a collaboration with Intu Derby I am heading there every Thursday for the next 3 weeks as part of their #TwilightThursdays to talk about all the good stuff they have available this season, especially as they're going to be open later for you to enjoy the shopping centre. I'm a sucker for a date night so what better way to kick off this collaboration and myself and Jordan were very much looking forward to it after a long day at work.

We were due to head to our favourite restaurant MexiCO for dinner but traffic got in the way so we decided to take full vantage of their Eat Central which is a great option for a quick snack whilst your Christmas shopping. Eat Central includes 11 different outlets ready to serve you with some delicious food, there's everything from KFC to Bagel Nash (especially for those who enjoy an American style dish!) You can't go wrong with this area!

We headed off to Showcase Cinema which is in the shopping centre, opposite the Eat Central dining area. I used to work at my local Showcase Cinema venue so it's always really nice to go into their cinemas and remember how much I really liked my job in the cinema, definitely miss those weekly free movies! Me and Jordan had already decided we wanted to watch the new Disney film, Moana for our date night. I'm a huge fan of Disney films so I was intrigued to see what Disney had created with this feature.

The film is based on stores from Polynesian mythology and was just aesthetically gorgeous. Moana Waialiki is a sea voyaging enthusiast and the only daughter of a chief in a long line of ancestors. When her island's fisherman can no longer catch any fish and the crops start to die, she learns that the demigod Maui caused the problem by stealing the heart of the goddess Te Fiti. The only way they can heal the island is to persuade Maui to return to Te Fiti's heart, so Moana sets on the most epic journey across the Pacific.

It was such a funny, feel good film and the soundtrack is pretty awesome too! If you're a fan of Disney films then I would definitely recommend that you give it a watch in the cinemas whilst you can.

Definitely head over to the Intu Derby over this festive season to enjoy great food and a cinema trip to put your feet up after a long day of Christmas Shopping! Stay tuned for next week when I'll be doing a Christmas Shopping Haul to get my last little bits!
