What's a good meal without a great dessert afterwards? That's the challenge I set for Nottingham's new Griddle & Shake when visiting them recently to sample their new dessert menu and considering it was a restaurant I had walked by numerous times, I was excited to see what they had to offer.

Located on Fletcher Gate it's near to Theatre Royal as well as a stone throw from Nottingham's Lace Market Square. It's spacious restaurant and clean finish in interior makes it a hot spot and a great place to get some food. The bare brick finish to their walls made the restaurant look great. I had a nosy over their main menu and I'm already planning another visit to sample that because it looks good!

The restaurant was founded on Griddle & Shake's true passion to provide their customers with great food, great drink and great guest service. This has inspired their every detail from the burger toppings and ice cream shake add ins to the restaurant interior and herd members uniforms. It's their mission to ensure that their passion shines through to every guest that walks into their restaurant.  They also want to show the world that both a love for the environment and a passion for food can easily come together like a burger and a bun. All of their food packaging is full compostable and biodegradable and all meat in the restaurant is red tractor approved.

Also if you have any dietary needs like gluten free then Griddle & Shake can cater to you just so long as you let them know when you go to order so that they can ensure you get the products suited to your needs.

The ordering process for the restaurant is simple, you order at the till and then wait for them to bring your food over. I loved how the entirety that I was in the restaurant they addressed me by my first name and it made me feel really comfortable within their venue. Little touches like that definitely help to make your dining experience enjoyable.

There was a lot to choose from in their menu that made it incredibly hard to decide how I would best sample one of their products. The menu gives you the option of just enjoying some ice cream, a brownie and ice cream or the full works of waffle, ice cream and sauce too! I opted to try out one of their brownies because they sounded great and I already seen a lot of my other blog friends rave about them.

I opted for the Salted Caramel and Peanut Fudge Brownie topped off with Honeycomb ice cream and Caramel Sauce. Being able to choose every step of the way which ice cream and topping you'd like was great and meant the dessert was catered to your own individual choices. I also sampled some of their Homemade Lemonade to wash down the dessert with.

I thought the brownie itself was full of flavour, I could taste the Peanut Fudge brownie more over the Salted Caramel but it's gooey consistency with the Salted Caramel was delicious. I thought that the Honeycomb ice cream recommended to me by the person serving me went really well with the brownie, I loved picking at it with a spoonful of brownie and sauce each time. I couldn't eat all of the dessert because it was quite filling considering the portion size wasn't particularly as big as I had imagined it to be. The team had got it right there with their size and flavouring choices!

I would definitely head on down to Nottingham's Griddle & Shake to sample their great desserts, their burgers look bloody good too so try out those too!
