Well known Shakespeare production of Romeo and Juliet is being given a mod-ern twist in a brand new production coming to the Belgrade Theatre on Tues 20 to Thurs 22 June 2017. The most famous love story ever is being brought to the Coventry Stage with a musical Mods and Rockers theme by Oddsocks Productions. This company have really built themselves a reputation for producing both new and innovative adaptions of Shakespeare classics and this one follows their successful production of Much Ado About Nothing, which toured to the Belgrade in June 2016. 

The timeless story of two fueding families and star-crossed lovers is going to be aligned alongside a soundtrack of modern hits as timeless at the story, including It Must Be Love, Everybody Hurts and If I Could Turn Back Time to name a few. Scenes to look forward to the in the production include Juliet's Nurse will be looking forward to a good old 'Twist and Shout' and the fateful evening when they first meet and 'It Must Be Love'. 

Oddsocks Productions are a critically acclaimed family enterprise taking it's work out to diverse communities across the UK set up by Andy Barrow and Elli Mackenzie. This company have performed in both indoor and outdoor in all seasons for 28 years. They have become one of the UK's best-loved touring companies and definitely one to look out for with their energetic, full of life and full of laughs productions. 

Artistic Director, Andy Barrow said, "Oddsocks is a theatrical experience for everyone. As actors, we're putting on a party and everyone is invited. It's Shakespeare but not as you know it!"

As well as being a touring theatre company, Oddsocks are also busy facilitating their Open Doors scheme: something which allows disadvantaged communities, families and individuals to engage with theatre in schools, universities and prisons. They offer the opportunity for tuition, recruitment workshops and enterprise days for students. Oddsocks produce comedy training videos, lead team-building days and support businesses to understand the importance of internal communication in the workplace.

The company Oddsocks are also touring a comedy, steampunk musical production of Macbeth alongside Romeo and Juliet.
