10 Good Things From This Week (#01)

It's the weekend, yipee! We're halfway through March, how?!

I'm currently writing this on a Friday evening whilst watching the latest episode of Hollyoaks and waiting for a chippy dinner (the best kind of Fridays of course!). Apparently, there is ANOTHER Amber warning for snow this weekend. I love Spring in the UK, don't you? I'm also at work on Sunday so my weekend is cut slightly short this week (but a 3 1/2 day weekend next week so swings and roundabouts folks!)

I've decided to try and introduce a weekly roundup on a Saturday. Posts that include the best bits of someone's week and some blog posts they've enjoyed reading are some of my favourites to read, therefore I am injecting some of that into mine. It's been a long time since I have introduced something like this and kept to it, let's hope I can keep to it this time. Anyway, without further or do let's catch up.

1. Queer Eye. If you've not already done so, Queer Eye on Netflix is an absolute must on your watchlist right now. I've laughed and cried through every episode, it's such an uplifting programme. The Fab Five are awesome and it's just really good television.

2. Happy Place. I am digging podcasts whilst at work right now and I've recently discovered Happy Place, created by Fearne Cotton ♥︎. It only has 3/4 episodes but I've loved listening to every episode. Listening to Tom Daley and his husband discuss becoming parents, Dawn French about her incredible career and Paloma Faith about her commitment to reaching success has been great for getting through work.

3. Homemade Chilli. Jordan makes the ultimate Homemade chili with melted cheese dip and couldn't wait to tuck into this on Monday night. I can't even tell you how comforting it is to eat something like this after a long day at work. Delicious! Of course, I took the leftovers to work on Tuesday! :D

4. Matilda. The UK Tour of the hit London musical has begun and I saw it on Thursday at the Curve Theatre. Matilda has always been one of my favourite films so I've been dying to see the stage adaptation for a while, I was super excited! You can read my review here

5. War House. The second trip to the theatre this week! I watched the UK Tour of National Theatre's production of War House at Theatre Royal Nottingham last week and absolutely loved it. It was honestly 2 hours of theatre I can't stop thinking about. You can read my review here.

6. Not Too Deep. The podcast hosted by Grace Helbig and Jack Ferry had me laughing out loud in the office this week with their latest episode, They spoke to Youtuber Hazel Hayes and I thought it was absolutely brilliant.

7. Making Life Changes. Sometimes you acknowledge that whilst an income is important, so is your well-being which is why I have decided to begin decreasing my hours at work. It's not much, just 4 for now but that's 4 more hours to write on my blog, teach Dance and just look after myself.

8. Mother's Day. This year we celebrated Mother's Day a day early by heading into our local town with my sister and my mum. We enjoyed lunch at Bru Coffee on Leicester's Granby Street and grabbing some doughnuts from the newly opened Doughnotts (of course there was some shopping too!)

9. Four Days That Shook Britain. I watched this documentary about the 2017 terrorist attacks across the UK. It was a really difficult time and watching it made me highly emotional, particular Manchester Arena. But the thing I wanted to draw on was the sense of community that is embedded in those times. People went in and did all that they could to help, people lost their lives by protecting others and cities came together in strength towards those idiots.

10. The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**K. I've just starting reading this book many bloggers have been raving about. It's not a bad read actually, I'm already deciding on what needs to be on my "Fuck Budget" and it feels damn good!
