Centro Lounge, Loughborough

2 Old Hospital Court, Loughborough LE111FS, UK

Having already test driven two new editions to the new Baxter Gate complex in my hometown of Loughborough there was another one to tick off the list, Centro Lounge. Decorated with upcycled furniture, statement lighting and retro styled artwork all over the floors it’s a place that definitely has a unique style to it. Centro Lounge can seat up to 100 of its guest inside as well as an extra 37 seats being available on the outside.  So when myself and Jordan were invited to try out their main menu I was looking forward to giving this edgy place my thoughts!

The menu has a wide variety of dishes for you to enjoy. Brunch, Sandwiches and Panini’s, Salads, Mains, Burgers and even Tapas (not forgetting desserts too!). There’s something for everyone to enjoy. They also have a gluten free and vegan menu available for those with additional dietary requirements. Not forgetting the kids too, there is a really great menu available for those little people!

After some toss up with decisions me and Jordan decided to give one of their burgers a go. They all sounded pretty good so we thought we'd try one each out as well as one of us to have their sweet potato fries with our burger too! I opted for a Hero Hamburger which consisted of a hamburger, chorizo, mature chedder, fried red onion, chimichurri, chipotle mayo and marinated chilli in a brioche bun, with house slaw and fries. (I had sweet potato fries with my meal which was an extra £1).

I wasn't disappointed.

The burger had tons of flavours, some of which I hadn't tried yet and completely complimented one another. There was enough filling in the burger that it didn't spill out of the bun and become messy. I felt nicely full after consuming my meal as well as some of the onion rings we decided to purchase on the side.

Jordan on the other hand as a big fan pulled pork decided to try out the The Rib Tickler. A burger made up of 8hr slow-cooked pulled pork, barbecue sauce, mature cheddar, sour cream and pickled red cabbage in a brioche bun, with house slaw and fries. Jordan decided to try out Centro Lounge's house fries with his burger.

He thoroughly enjoyed his burger, it was definitely more of a messy burger than mine was so I was happy with that. His meal was presented well but Jordan felt that the flavours were quite bland this in burger especially with the pulled pork and barbecue sauce. He feels like he would have enjoyed the burger more if it had more barbecue sauce on it.

All in all a really enjoyable meal in a really comfortable and quirky atmosphere. The staff made us feel really welcome in the atmosphere and this doesn't feel like a place that isn't exclusive to enjoy it. The restaurant also has games and activities to keep them occupied making an enjoyable dining experience for the whole family.

I would definitely recommend giving Centro Lounge a visit, it has lots of exciting food and drinks to offer!
Disclaimer: I was invited to try out the menu with a guest in return for this post to be published. The photos are credited to the photographer but all views are mine. Thanks to the Centro Lounge team in Loughborough for a fantastic experience.

  1. This is the same chain as Mercado Lounge in Harborough, I always get the Hero Hamburger, it's so tasty! The Rib Tickler sounds good too, I'll have to try that one next time! xx
