BBC Good Food Show, NEC Birmingham.

National Exhibition Center, North Ave, Marston Green, Birmingham B40 1NT, UK

The BBC Good Food Show is a great event for foodies alike to enjoy. Heading to Birmingham twice a year, their shows provide the perfect inspiration for your dining needs. Their flagship Winter Show is packed with top chefs and experts, the most inspiring ideas for the festive season as well as the chance to shop from hundreds of producers and brands all in one place. I was invited on behalf of The Ticket Factory* to check it out and what better way to get into the festive spirit than being surrounded by delicious food and drink to enjoy.

There's so much to check out at the event, some of the biggest names in food take to the Big Kitchen for live demonstrations, sharing their recipe ideas and easy inspiration to make sure your Christmas cooking stands out this year. The likes of The Hairy Bikers, Mary BerryJames Martin and Tom Kerridge take to the stage this year. There's also the Winter Kitchen which gives more tips and techniques for you. You can even get some tips on how to get your family involved in cooking with the addition of the NEW Friends and Family Festive Kitchen.

One of the new additions to the show this year and something that definitely drew my interest was the Skills School. This gives you the hands-on masterclasses like knife skills and naked cake decorating to help you become more of a whizz in the kitchen.

Exploring amongst the many stalls of different brands and producers was overwhelming, there's so much that we're pretty sure that we missed some without realising. There's everything from tea, cakes, cooking equipment, food subscription services and lots of Gin. I couldn't quite believe how much of the Gin brands were there during the event, tucking right into the opportunities to sample a few whilst I was there.

Whilst we were browsing the stalls, it was the perfect time to purchase a few Christmas gifts. The stalls had a great variety of affordable offers for you to take advantage of too. The quality of each brand was next to none. I managed to finally meet the team of Bluebird Tea whose Loose Leaf Tea Blend is something I have wanted to sample for a while, especially as they've opened up a store in Nottingham recently. Aromas of different teas, including some fantastic Christmas blends, make it a brand you definitely want to check out. They kindly allowed me to take some of the teas to sample at home for free so I'll be definitely tucking into those during the colder nights.

We wanted to make sure we took advantage of the live shows so we headed to the Big Kitchen stage to watch the Big Family Cooking Showdown. The new BBC show brings together generations to celebrate the very best of home cooking. Nadiya Hussain was joined LIVE on the stage by her co-presenter Giorgio Locatelli and the programme's winning family the Gangotras to showcase their family favourite recipes. It smelt delicious in that room and it was really interesting to see how they transformed their recipes into yummy dishes the whole family can enjoy at the table. The programme sounds fab and I'm keeping my eyes pealed for the programme to watch.

I felt inspired to get more into the kitchen after this event and thoroughly enjoyed sampling food and seeing some great brands from across the country.

Looking ahead to 2018, the BBC Good Food Show will be back for their Summer show at the NEC in Birmingham. You can head to the venue between 14-17 June to be entertained by great chefs, do some shopping, taste some tasty delights and be inspired.

You can purchase your tickets for the BBC Good Food Show in the Summer from The Ticket Factory website right now.
