Hello Fresh UK

Leicester, UK

If you didn't already know I do not usually cook in our house. I am fortunate that Jordan is an absolute whizz in the kitchen and enjoys rustling us up a delicious dinner on a regular basis. However, it's about time I allowed Jordan more evenings to put his feet up and gave cooking a go. Hello Fresh got in touch to see whether I wanted to give one of their subscription services ago, what a more fitting opportunity to get in the kitchen. If you're like me and want to learn to cook delicious meals then Hello Fresh is a great service. Also when it's still super cold outside there's nothing like discovering comfort food.

Hello Fresh provides you with easy-to-follow recipes from around the world. Their fresh ingredients are both high quality and already pre-measured so you don't need to worry about faffing around when preparing your meal. Having the meals already pre-measured also makes it easier to source the specific ingredients you'll need, it really saves on all of the fuss. What I loved about Hello Fresh was that there wasn't a specific cuisine in the subscription.  The meals also become individually packaged for each meal making it extremely convenient and all fit perfectly in your fridge.

For our trial, we ordered the Classic Box which gave us 3 meals for the week, Prawn LinguineSausage Meat Chilli with Homemade Nacho Chips and Beef Kofta Curry. I enjoyed taking some time away from my laptop to make all 3 of the dishes, I wasn't too sure on the Beef Kafta Curry as it was something I hadn't tried before. Whereas I really enjoy the flavour of Prawns and Chilli is one of my home comfort dinner of choices. Myself and Jordan thought that all 3 of the meals were extremely delicious and definitely gave them all 5 out of 5 for their flavour and easy to make recipes making it something we can recreate at a later time. All of the meals were also pretty quick to make therefore you could cook and serve it up in time for Eastenders to be on the TV ;). All of the meals tasted incredibly fresh and as though their ingredients were sourced with care.

Since sampling our Hello Fresh box we've actually recreated two of the dishes again. We had the Prawn Linguine for our New Years Eve supper and the Beef Kofta Curry just recently for a weeknight dinner. Both of which were just as easy to recreate the second time as they were the first.

I'd definitely use Hello Fresh again, I cannot compare it to others out there in the market as I haven't sampled those but I thought that Hello Fresh had a lot to give to consumers. I loved their convenience, it definitely helped with meal planning for the next week. It saved the hassle of us trying to think too far ahead about what food we needed to purchase, it cut down on our weekly food waste. I can't wait to show off what I've learnt at my net dinner date with my friends.

Hello Fresh provides a great introduction to combining flavours for those who have little experience in the kitchen. They provide variety in flavours that means it continues to interest and inspires you to cook more regularly.

As well as the Classic Box we sampled, they provide a box for Families as well as the option for Vegetarians too starting from as little as £4.00 per meal.
