10 Good Things From This Week (#02)

This week has been a toughie.

If you hadn't seen on my other social media platforms I announced that on Tuesday I lost my job. It's been tough I'm not going to lie. It feels as though someone has pulled the carpet from under my feet. I have spent the last few days just organising meetings, have a potential for some Freelance work and have been surrounded by tons of support.

I didn't know whether I was going to post this post this week but I've decided to write it on the day it goes live whilst sitting on my bed and listening to a YouTube video.

I wanted to share 10 Good Things from this week which has enabled me to look ahead.  If any of you are in the same position as me I believe that everything happens for a reason.

1. Snow
We had snow last weekend (again!) and actually I embraced it by chilling on the sofa watching The Little Mermaid and reading my Kindle.

2. Beef Casserole
Whilst it was snowing outside I was at my parents and they cooked the ultimate snow day food. Beef casserole and dumplings, it was delicious and warmed me right up whilst it was snowing outside.

3. 'Dirt' Emma Blackery
I've been listening to Emma's latest music release on repeat since last Friday. I love the new vibe she is going with and can't wait to see what the rest of her album has in store. The video for 'Dirt' is quite something too.

4. The Blogging Community
This week has restored my faith in the blogging community. When I lost my job on Tuesday I was flooded with messages of support and pick me ups. I feel like the community has given me a big hug and things will get better. I'm so thankful to be part of the community right now.

5. Girls Incarcerated
I've already noticed that whilst I'm unemployed I will be using my background noise to be all of the Netflix one girl can maintain. I absolutely flew through this documentary series this week, with each episode focusing on what happened for the girls to be in juvenile prison. If you enjoy tucking into a documentary series then this is a pretty easy one to get into.

6. Jordan
I don't know how I would have got through this week without Jordan. Every morning since the drama he has given me a pep talk before he's gone to work, canceled his own plans to do stuff to help me and gave me Gin and Tea on tap. I genuinely don't know how I rocked up so lucky to have someone like Jordan ♥︎

7. BBC Radio Leicester
I featured on BBC Radio Leicester last week thanks to a hilarious tweet I put up about people eating in the theatre during a show. It has ended up with an online feature and I'll be on a Lunchtime show in a couple of weeks, hoping this creates new opportunities for me in Radio. Something I haven't considered before but it sounds so much fun.

8. Homo Sapiens
I recently discovered this other podcast to add to my evergrowing list of podcasts I love listening to (I'll create a post about it soon). I decided to give their Season 2 Ep 1 with Jeremy Corbyn a listen and absolutely loved it! It's hosted by Will Young and Christopher Sweeney and they touch on a lot of LGBT topics that were really interesting.

9. Method Antibacterial Kitchen Cleaner Sunny Citrus.
I feel like such an adult talking about this but yes I am mentioning an Antibacterial spray that I love right now. I've been hearing loads about these Method sprays for a while so I picked one up recently in Tesco. It smells so damn good and I now can't wait to give my kitchen sides and dining table a good clean with the stuff. What's so good is that they don't use all of the chemicals you usually find in sprays and also they're made from old bottles, yes to the green planet. You can find this stuff anywhere in the shops but get yourselves some!

10. Ru Paul's Drag Race
Season 10 dropped yesterday and OH MY GOD, I'm all for it. My weekends are going to be better for the considerable future because you know watching the latest episode will become an important part of my morning routine. Basically, don't do anything else for the next hour other than get your bottom over to Netflix to watch it right now.

If you enjoyed this week's 10 Good Things have a week of the post from last week

I believe everything happens for a reason. When things like this happen it just means that you are meant for bigger and better things. I can't wait for the new season of RuPaul's drag race and it starts today😀 yassss. I'm glad you are feeling better :)

    1. Thanks Hayley, I hope so! Just hoping this is the week I can sort myself some work, can't stand doing another full week at home! It's driving me mad! Yesss to the new season of Ru Paul, hope you've been enjoying it! :D xx

  2. Love this list! Must admit I hadn't come across Emma Blackery so I'll have to check her stuff out :)
Have a lovely weekend & I hope next week is positive too! xx

    1. You definitely should, Emma's music is great. I'm excited by her new stuff, it's so different! xx

  3. Sorry to hear about your job. If you need someone to talk to, you can get in touch with me. It's defiant of you to put together this ten good things post at such a time. I hope you don't put too much pressure on yourself. Lots of people, including me, change jobs more frequently these days.

    1. Thanks Dan, I really appreciate it! I hope that this week I can sort out a job, the unemployment life is so stressful! xx

  4. So sorry to hear about losing your job. I do firmly believe that everything happens for a reason, though, so hopefully something amazing is coming your way now! x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
