10 Good Things (#06).

Hooray, it's another Bank Holiday Monday!

As you read this I'll either be enjoying a lie-in or smashing my to-do list, I hope it's the to-do list because I've got loads to do before a busy half-term commences (*breathes*)

I haven't written a 10 Good Things post in nearly a month now - oops! The only explanation I have is that May turned out to be way busier than I expected it to be. I definitely think I've started to feel overwhelmed by everything so I reckon the Bank Holiday Weekend is very much needed. Anyway, I've had a think about the 10 Good Things from May!

1. Safe. I completely binged this new TV Series on Netflix in just over a week in May and was completely gripped by it. It's created by well-known author Harlan Coben and even though most people weren't interested in it, I really loved it and since purchased one of his books from a local charity shop.

2. Job Interviews. I've really grafted in May with working at the SEN school I've been at for over a month now and writing up job applications. June brings me 4 job interviews so I really hope something comes from them.

3. Legally Blonde. I enjoyed a trip to the Theatre Royal in Nottingham this month to watch the Legally Blonde UK Tour and thought it was fantastic! I haven't been able to stop listening to the soundtrack since.

4. Ye Olde Bell Hotel and Spa. I enjoyed a fantastic overnight stay at the Ye Olde Bell Hotel and Spa in Nottinghamshire with my sister and it was such a lovely break. I'd go again just for their incredible spa facilities, I'm hoping to book a revisit for me and Jordan's anniversary in September.

5. Avengers: Infinity War. I went to see the latest release from Marvel earlier this month and friggin' loved it. I still have so many thoughts to it and think I need to watch it again just to help me figure out more about it.

6. Royal Wedding. I got into the wedding fever for the wedding of Harry and Meghan earlier this month. I headed to a coffee shop in Leicester with Kirstie where we enjoyed afternoon tea, fighting with an awful stream (which we fixed for them!) and got to chat with some lovely strangers about the whole thing. I was completely swept away by it all, it was stunning!

7. Love Island. The new season of Love Island begins next week and I can expect to have it completely take over my life. What better way to prepare myself than by watching the last two seasons on Netflix? YASSS. I can't wait!

8. Heatwave. The weather has been incredible in the UK recently and I'm living for it. I've loved having the sun shining throughout the day so that when I get home I can sit outside and enjoy it for a few hours. I just wonder how long it'll last over the actual summer..

9. Primark. I'm not earning a lot of money atm but it hasn't stopped me treating myself to some incredible pieces from Primark. Primark is really smashing it with the Summer clothes this year and I can't resist. I need to try and tame myself.

10.  Freelance. Since losing my job in March I have kinda fell into accepting a few Freelance clients and this May I have been absolutely smashing the work for two clients. I think I've done a pretty good job and I've just secured a new client and have 2 meetings on the horizon so i'll be kept busy until I can secure a job full-time. I didn't expect to be doing Freelance work but it's adding skills to my CV for sure.

What was a highlight in May for you? Now that June is on the horizon I'm looking ahead to turning 27 in July, I can't believe how quick 2018 is passing me by.

  3. Yay for the freelance work, I bet you're doing amazing with it all! Good luck with the job interviews, I have everything crossed for you! I love Legally Blonde, such a brilliant show. We've been bingeing Safe too, I'm not sure if I love it or hate it though! I'm definitely intrigued by it, we're on episode 7! My May highlight was a holiday in Nîmes with Sam and Dougie, it was amazing. I love the photos in this post, they're brilliant!
